This Coffee Adventure poem is the first in a series for the #atozchallenge. If you have a topic you want a poem written about over the next 25 days, let me know by posting a comment below.

April is a sign of new beginnings. Birds are singing and the trees are blooming. As I write this on April Fool’s Day, I think of how the weather has mood swings this time of year. Last week we were in the high 80s and today it’s overcast and chilly. For just a moment, as we breathe a bit of relief about how enjoying the beauty of Spring, we know that Arizona summers are brutal.
Travel with me through the year in this Abecedarian/ABC poem. And, yes, the photos are all originally mine, unless otherwise credited.

April’s fool sneezes
blossoms to those below.
Cool winds tease of
days of comfort,
even though everybody knows
false promises of fun summer days,
gone like sugar coated
high school memories turn
into melted puddles of
July’s heat waves.
Kaffeeklatsch mornings filled with
Laughter and friends
making memories
never forgotten until
October brings
pumpkin filled nights and
quilts for cuddling during
Reminiscing months as
Santa promises snow. If only
turkeys can have their day.
Under the mistletoe waiting until
Valentine candy day.
Where are we now? Configure the
x of time. Has it only been a day?
Years of days, I know not. Each day a
Zero-Hour Loop longing to break free.
